From Clinic to E-commerce: Building a Thriving Skincare Brand
Seven:Thirty is a skincare clinic and retail line based in Berkeley, California. Aesthetician and founder Shannon Carter-Gascon formulated products and designed her unique, real-world approach to skincare based on 20 years spent in the treatment room with a devoted client base.
Word of Mouth was brought on for a short-term engagement to execute the launch of a completely new brand identity and direct-to-consumer e-commerce sales program. But it quickly became clear that Word of Mouth would be crucial to the new brand's success, and we were asked to continue working on an ongoing retainer basis.
In this creative producer role, Word of Mouth's hands-on experience in design and publishing has enabled us to do far more than a typical project manager could. With a deep understanding of the vision for the brand and the complex requirements involved in marketing initiatives, Word of Mouth helped build and coordinate a team of social media, newsletter, and marketing experts to bring the new Seven:Thirty brand to life.
We collaborate closely with each contractor, set realistic timelines, and ensure that every project runs smoothly and efficiently. We help Seven:Thirty maximize return on its marketing investments by regularly evaluating performance, identifying pain points, analyzing trends in the D2C market, and making shifts in strategic direction.
Specific services include setting deadlines and leading weekly progress meetings; casting, hiring, and creating shot lists for photo shoots; executive coaching for videos; evaluating and onboarding vendors; and producing the look, feel, and flow of the website, email newsletters, and social media content.
Word of Mouth has taken the overall vision and creative direction for the brand and translated them into actionable, strategically prioritized projects with realistic timelines in order to execute a full product and website launch that supported the re-envisioned brand. We continue to leverage our creative expertise and project management mastery to keep the Seven:Thirty brand fresh as its business needs evolve.
